We have some special programs this month! Join us for: Puppeteering 101 for Teens - Every Wednesday in May at 4:00 pm. Are you a natural performer? What about direction and set design? Join us throughout May as we discover the history of puppeteering, make puppets, design a set, and perform a live show for a captive audience! Creative Crafts for Adults - Saturday May 5, 10:00-11:00am Join HEEC to turn old crepe paper into a beautiful flower bouquet to enjoy or share for Mother’s Day! Participants can bring their own paper or use what is supplied. Registration at the Adult Reference Desk is appreciated. Family Science Exploration - Saturday, May 26 at 10:30 am. Get your family excited about science! Join us in our science lab every month where we will explore a new topic. See you there! Decoration Station: When Darkness Falls...Tuesdays in May at 4:00pm. Summer Reading Program is coming and we need help decorating! Join us every Tuesday night for the following activities: 5/10: Starry Night 5/17: Animal House 5/24: Quit Buggin’ Me 5/31: There is Something Under My Bed During the month of May we continue to offer our ongoing programs: Early Learning Playtime on Saturdays from 2-3 pm. For kids 0-5 years old. Swing by the Discovery Zone program room to play and meet new friends. Tiny Hoppers Toddler Time - *Register for the next session the week of May 29 Your Choice of: Tuesdays at 10:30am or Wednesdays at 6pm. For 1-3 year olds. This is a fun and active program full of songs selected to meet the developmental needs of toddlers. **REGISTRATION REQUIRED Garden Walk on Mondays & Wednesdays 10:00-11:00am, Saturdays 9:00-10:30am. Stroll through our dreamy gardens and smell the fragrances of spring. Take a guided tour of our 15,000 sq ft rooftop gardens. Saturday is Community Garden Day, bring your gloves and garden with us! Family Story Time - Thursdays at 10:30 am. Join us for this wonderful traditional story time where we explore great children’s Literature, songs, finger plays, and crafts geared toward a different theme each week. Animal Ambassadors - Fridays 3:30-4:00pm. Bring your children to learn about and meet our rescued animals. Sit, Stay Read - on the third Saturday of the Month @ 3:00pm. Share your favorite story with a furry friend! Better Biking with a Biker - 1st Tuesday of every Month @ 6:30pm. Join certified bike technician Thomas Cusson, owner of East Highland Bikes, every month to learn basic repair and maintenance tips for your bike! Open to all bikers! Quilts of Valor - 4th Saturday of the Month, 10:00-4:00. Whether you can sew, iron, cut or are willing to learn, come by and help make a quilt for a veteran. Highland Readers Group - Wednesdays in May on 5/2, 5/16, 5/30 @ 4:00 pm. Come on in and join our reading club where we will be discussing the latest selection.
